Production process and performance of plant fiber foaming packaging products

II. Manufacturing process and equipment characteristics:

compared with foaming plastics, plant fiber foaming materials have a relatively simple production process without multiple foaming and cooling processes. There are two main foaming processes for plant fiber foaming products: the use of chemical foaming agents and regional chemical foaming agents

(1) plant fiber foaming products without foaming agent are old book waste; Paper or other fibers and starch are used as raw materials. The foaming products do not need the foaming agent of the chemical plant, but are foamed by the action of steam. The production purpose of the products will not damage the environment. The used products can be treated like ordinary garbage, and can also be recycled and reprocessed. In terms of economic benefits, fiber foamed products are cheaper than foamed plastics for the same amount of packaging materials, and have broad application prospects

(2) the manufacturing process of plant fiber foaming products using foaming agent is basically the same as that of plant fiber foaming products without foaming agent, except that the medium of power generation is not water vapor, but various foaming agents. This method is easy to control foaming. At present, the foaming agents mainly include sodium bicarbonate, urea, azodimethylamine, toluene sulfonphthalein cake, etc. Some of the foaming agents have adverse effects on the environment, so if they are improperly selected, they will have a certain impact on the environment in the production process, as well as in the use and recycling process

there are two main methods of making plant fiber foaming products: one-step molding and two-step molding

the process feature of one-step molding is that it adopts integral pouring foaming molding, and its process flow is mainly: material mixing - pulping - pouring - foaming molding - ripening - demoulding - finished product

the technological feature of two-step molding is that the recycled old books, newspapers or other plants are crushed and ground into fibrous shape, which is mixed with starch in a certain proportion, and then made into cylindrical particles with a diameter of 1 ~ 3 mm in an extruder. In the extrusion process, the raw materials are foamed by water vapor to form granular foamed pulp. Using foamed pulp particles as raw materials, the foamed pulp particles are sent into a special metal mold for pressure heating to make packaging products with corresponding shapes
